Renaissance Wind & String Ensemble

The Renaissance Wind & String Ensemble, established in 2009, was created as way for verteran flutist & composer Tom Reese to bring music into schools, working with youth & teaching them about early music as well as contemporary music.   Showcasing several different wind instruments, including soprano flute, alto flute, pennywhistle, ocarina, and various string instruments (from violin to cello), their shows are lively, entertaining and educational. 

They were a featured performer at the 2009 Benefit for Make-A-Wish Foundation, featuring The Reese Project with Amaryllis Santiago.  The concert was performed in Lyte Audorium at Millersville University. 

Trios to the Fair (CD included!):  A new book of short pieces for trio, called "Trios to the Fair," was published in 2009.  It features arrangements by award-winning composer, Tom Reese.  The pieces include Fair Favorites such as the O'Carolan tunes Planxty Fanny Po'er, Planxty Abigail Judge, & One More Bottle, as well as other tunes including Black Nag, Morrison's Jig, Mouse Dance, Merrily on H igh, The Otter's Pool, The 29th of May, Jenny Nettle, Gethering Peascods, Drive the Cold Winter Away, Cantiga 353 & Childgrove.  It includes a professional recording on CD of all the pieces is available for purchase for $19.95 in our store.
