FOLK FUSION: Tom & Laurie's duo, just flute & cello (sometimes acoustic, sometimes electric)
Musically, Tom & Laurie have developed a unique style over the past 18 years that fuses elements of classical, folk & jazz music into a new sound they call "Folk Fusion." Tom's background is in jazz, Laurie's in classical music -- celtic music was their common meeting ground. These roots sprouted in many directions, staying true to the roots of each genre while blending elements of each. Their influences include Norman & Nancy Blake, Yo Yo Ma, Mark O'Connor, Edgar Myer, Van Morrison, Jethro Tull, JS Bach, Miles Davis, and more...

Laurie’s classical training, Tom’s jazz experience shining with wild flute & pennywhistle lines, & Chris’ folk & rock background blend into a fresh acoustic sound that enlivens the traditional celtic elements. Folk rock mixes with traditional celtic melodies, and jazz improvisation mixes with classical interpretations in the jazz, blues, bluegrass, newgrass, celtic, Irish & folk rock tunes this band performs.
